Now that the snow season has basically started, I figured it was about time to get a video done of the pre-season rail jam we did at Outdoor Action Company in Keego Harbor.
Overall, I would have to say that this set up was one of the best we have put together. From the picture you can see we had a ton of snow. We had three different rail lines set up, and the kids came together to turn the corrugated tube into a jump line. Check it!

We have to give it up to Outdoor Action Company for inviting us in to put on this event. They threw out killer prizes and I can only imagine that next year will be better. They served the crowd smoking hot dogs and popcorn, and threw out some nice deals inside. I saw people walking out all day with new gear in their hands.
If you have heard of OAC or not, make sure to get in there this year and say hi. They have a great staff to help you out with your every need. As far as next year goes, we can only hope that they invite us back for this great event. We also hope that everyone who wants to get down on some early season shredding shows up to dial in their skills.

It is going down this weekend folks. I don’t know how much has been said about it or how much anyone has heard of it, but let me tell you. It is happening.
I know there is a lot going on this weekend, but if you want to get your shred on one more time before the snow flies, make sure to get down to Outdoor Action Company for some pre winter skiing and snowboarding.
There will be free prizes and tons of giveaways. Probably even some food. If I can remember, I polished off a few hot dogs the last couple of years I stopped by. Either way, if you have nothing to do, come out and ride, say hi and enjoy the day on the snow. Hope to see you there!

It is about to happen again. The Downtown Rail Jam is about to go down in Birmingham, Michigan on September 21st. Last year was off the hook and this year should be much of the same. Bring your friends, bring your boards, and lets jam.
Here are some pictures from last year. The drop in will be the same this year due to city ordinances and crap, but we are hope to have some new obstacles for you to jam this year.
Well Flickr slide shows still do not want to work on my site, so here is the link.
Since my slideshow didn’t work here is a video from last year to get you pumped. Enjoy and I hope to see you at the jam.[embed width=”620″ height=”349″]http://youtu.be/85R8VZ5kRYY[/embed]

Went shooting this past weekend with my brother in law at the Pontiac Lake shooting range.
He blasted his black powder like it was his day job and I took some time to dial in my Rugar 10/22.
As a kid my dad always took me shooting and this event took me straight back to those days. It felt great to get out with my family and friends. I can’t wait to do the same on a board this year.
The time is coming my friends!

It is time to test my skills in two new ways. One, build a legit stand up paddleboard (SUP). Two, build a blog of blogs that documents the whole build. It all starts now.
1. The blank
2. Prep the blank
5. Lay Up
7. Hot Coat
9. Clear coat
At this point I do not know what else will come, but as I learn I will populate the list above. I will also link each point as the process continues. Here we go!

It’s sad but true. Whether you noticed or not, I took a little break over the summer from writing and some of the social media things I was doing. Actually I pretty much took the whole summer off and loved every minute of it.
No More Sabbatical
Honestly, listen to what I was really doing instead. I had a baby girl, maybe I should say that again, I had a baby girl. I also worked for the wakeboard clinic, healed my broken clavicle, worked Boyne Camp, and I spent a lot of time with the family.
Although I was on sabbatical, I thought daily about the next step(s) for Parx. I thought about where I want Parx to be in three years. How can I improve it? What needs to change? And in the end, how can we have more fun?
Here are a few of my thoughts as we move forward.
•It is time to update this site. What it will look like and how it will function is still up in the air, but its got to change man.
•Posts will to come more often. Instead of posting things to Facebook, I plan to post everything on this blog first. Posts may be short or just a picture. They could be long. 95% of them will also come from my handy new iPhone 5’er.
•I’m switching up social media outlets. I’m late for Instagram but might give it a try. I have a few other thoughts also. As I put them into action I will let you know.
FB will always be there, but is getting a little old. I will still toss links up and scroll through every now and then to see what is up.
•in two months, I will be 100% healed and back on a board. Be on the lookout for private backyard bashes/jams. At least some videos.
All in all, I am excited to switch some things up and to try out a few new ideas. The sabbatical was a great thing that took place and who knows, maybe I will take one every summer. As far as PARX goes, this is PARX and how we roll. All I can ask is that you roll with us and let us know what you want also.
What would you change

I was introduced to this reggae band days ago at Timber Ridge Ski Resort and I have to give it to them. The temps outside were insane and Zion Lion brought even more reggae heat to the party. They jammed to Bob Marley, they worked their own songs, and I have never seen the steal guitar played in real life until I saw Zion Lion. All in all, when you mix good people with good music and great talent, you end up with a killer band. Therefore all I can do is Approve them for what they do. I hope everyone hears them for years to come. Enjoy a short clip of them jamming in Michigan.
Each week we highlight our favorite piece of social media from the snowboard and ski world and give it our “I’d Hit That” stamp of approval. All we want to do is give recognition to all of the hard working folks in the Action Sports Industry.
Sit back, enjoy, and take a look at this weeks “I’d Hit That” stamp of approval.[embed width=”620″ height=”349″]http://youtu.be/jBhw6c9PDJg[/embed]
