MacAskill’s Imaginate – APPROVED

July 1, 2013 By

Snowboard and skiThis honestly has nothing to do with board sports, but it still is in the action sport category so I couldn’t pass it up. Creativity and riding a bike like this should never be passed. Just the creativity alone takes the video you are about to watch to another level. Red Bull and Danny pretty much made toy life into reality. I am not 100% sure how they did this and really don’t care to honest. All I know is that I would love to be able to ride a bike and make it happen like this. Enjoy!

Wavegarden 2.0 – APPROVED

June 24, 2013 By

Snowboard and skiAfter surfing behind a boat for the past week, I couldn’t help but think about the video you are about to watch. As you might know, surfing has taken many different shapes over the years. I believe the sport just took on another look. Wavegarden produces man made waves sustainable for the pros and just small enough for the little tikes. Did you read that? It says Man Made waves. Waves up to 720 feet long. Are you interested now? We are and that is why we had to Approved this vid. Enjoy!

Dirt Boarders with Aggy – APPROVED

June 3, 2013 By

Snowboard and skiIt is always the thought that we need snow to snowboard. I guess all we need to do is find a rock quarry and get after it. In the video you are about to watch you will see two sports rolling and riding together that usually do not belong on the same hill. With the mix of downhill mountain biking, snowboarding and a couple of people laughing their arses off, you know we will approve it. It never hurts to add in a little Go Pro action as well. Enjoy!

X Games Detroit, One Step Closer

May 29, 2013 By

Last night X Games Detroit Bid organizers put together a party in downtown Detroit to welcome ESPN to the town. It was an opportunity to show ESPN what D-town is all about and to show them exactly why the X Games should be here for the next three years.

X Games Detroit

Beaste Boys, Music, Master Mike

To keep it short. The organizers did a damn good job. The local BMX crew shared ramps with the local skate crew to put on a daring show. Mix Master Mike threw down some nasty beets while local graffiti artist did their thing. The rest of us hung out and supported the cause.

Detroit X Games

All I can say is that I was pleasantly surprised by the whole event. The number of people who showed up to support the whole thing was killer and I had a great time.

From what I saw, I think ESPN has to be happy. If you want to see the X Games come to Detroit, get to the X Games Detroit Bid facebook page and start paying attention. These guys are making big moves and they can use your help.

Rising High with Red Bull

May 22, 2013 By

Can you remember the days where you would build a snowboard jump and not take the time to build a landing? Do you remember your body telling you that it was a horrible idea the day after or even that night? Well the same thing has been happening in the cable wakeboard scene for years, but I think Red Bull just put the stops to it.

Red Bull

Wakeboard, Red Bull, Water, Action SportsYup, that is a water ramp with a huge snowboard style landing. I have no idea what this is going to do to the sport of wakeboarding, but I can tell you that it is a huge step in the right direction.

From the sounds of it, Red Bull and Unit really do not know what this will do to the sport. Check out this short teaser clip.

[embed width=”620″ height=”349″]http://youtu.be/qEivB8YrVnY[/embed]

A few years back I took a small stab at solving this problem. Here is what I had to say about landing flat all day on water. I tell you what. Coming from a guy who has blown out knees, something had to be done.

[embed width=”620″ height=”349″]http://youtu.be/4paGPUc-zqo[/embed]

I can only imagine how many dollar bills were thrown into this. So many that it looks like Red Bull will put on an event in Germany to show case this unbelievable invention. To find more on the event make sure to check out their site. www.redbull.de/risinghigh. To see an english version, check out Alliance Wake.

What will this do to the Cable Wakeboard scene?

Freestyle – APPROVED

April 15, 2013 By

Snowboard and skiThere is really only one reason to approve this video. It is because I want to do exactly what is being done in this video. I want to do it in my backyard, at festivals and I want to bring this to the public so our kids can train their butts off. It is not about the show here. It is all about having fun and going big without an ounce of snow on the ground.  Approved!

Best Backyard Snowpark – APPROVED

December 17, 2012 By

Snowboard and ski

If you ever get feet of fresh snow and have unlimited materials to build obstacles for your backyard, you might be able to have as much fun as the shredders in this video.  From Bobcats, to cattle feeders, to welders, these cats have it all.  From the looks of it they drink to much, but who cares when they have this much fun.  This video can be approved just on the fact that they have crazy amounts of snow to deal with.  The fact that they actually got off their butts and did something with it, makes it Approved for sure.  Enjoy!

Fun at C-Burg

In the past year or two Cannonsburg Ski Resort in western Michigan has been throwing down some killer parks for kids to rage in.  The video you are about to watch is filled with crazy rail sliding action at C-burg.  This kind of riding always gets me stoked.  The video is also filled with a whole bunch of fun.  Who doesn’t like to watch a video where the riders and the people behind the camera are having a blast?  If you take the time to watch this, it will be easy to see why we APPROVED this footage!

Ski, Snowboard, Twin Tow, mSnow

October 12, 2012 By

With so much going on in the snowboard and ski industry it is almost impossible to find something that has never been done.  It is even harder to find people who are really creating and innovating the industry in different ways.  Well for people in Michigan, the Midwest, and the world, your search can stop now.  Take a look at the all new Twin Tow made and designed right here in Michigan.

"Snowboard" "Ski" "mSnow"

Snowboard and Ski with the Twin Tow

I don’t even know if I have to say much about the Twin Tow.  It kind of explains itself.  It is easy to see the beauty of this machine.  It’s easy to see the power it holds, and it is even easier to see how much fun you can have with something like this in your backyard or at your next event.  Take a look at the video of us testing out the Twin Tow at Timber Ridge Ski Resort.

I have to give credit where the credit is due.  The Schrab twins who own mSnow have been thinking of a machine like this for over 12 years.  They started out with smaller rope tows to pull them across their grandpa’s farm and 12 years later they made dreams become a reality.  And what a huge reality it is.  They designed the Twin Tow from the ground up and made their long term visions, dreams and ideas come true.

With all respect, I have to say this was one of my favorite days on a snowboard.  I am so stoked I was invited to test out the Twin Tow and I can’t wait to jam it again.  The Twin Tow is going to blow minds, if it hasn’t already blown yours.  Keep your eyes posted for upcoming events where mSnow and the Twin Tow will be present because you will not want to miss this thing in action.  I hope you are lucky enough to test it out on your own snowboard or skis.

What are you doing to innovate the snowboard and ski industry?
