Mark this one down in history. There are a lot of us who will remember what just went down at the Marhar Backyard Rail Jam in Downtown Grand Rapids. From the Griffins to flocks of snowboard enthusiasts, we were there. Here is a quick recap of the jam.
Jam sessions started around one in the afternoon. It was basically open for anyone to ride, to have fun on, and learn something new. This crazyness lasted the rest of the night. Around 6:30 however, Marhar threw in a little competition that put cash on the line. I think the word was out because people from around Michigan and the Midwest came out to see who could or would win. We caught parts of the day on film.
We also have a ton of pictures to sort through, but check out the snap shots Jack over at SnappedCore.com took of the night. He knows how to point and shoot.
We should all give the crew over at Marhar Snowboards a pat on the back for making this event happen. They put a ton into this thing to make it work. I also have to thank Josh and Nate for having Parx out to help put the event on. It has been great to work with you and I can’t wait to meet up again.
One last shout out has to go out to all of the people who came ride and to those who came to support this event. Without people showing up, we wouldn’t be able to have as good as an event as we did. I hope to see you all at the next Marhar Snowboards Backyard Rail Jam.

For almost five years now, Josh and Nate have built snowboards in western Michigan. Their company’s name is Marhar and I am happy to say that I have been testing, shredding, and trying to break their boards for over three years. What makes me even more happy is to see them in the news one more time.
Why do I get excited to see them on the news? Well because one of the first times I ever saw them was at a competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan. During that time I interviewed them because I couldn’t believe we had a snowboard manufacture in Michigan. Now I get to see them on a legit news station showing off their products. How sweet is that? Here is their clip from the news.Link to the video – http://www.wzzm13.com/video/default.aspx?bctid=1942907261001
Made in Michigan!! I am so pumped to know these guys and to know that they are still pushing through this industry. If you don’t know, the snowboard industry is not an easy feat. If you think it is, you may be a little crazy.
Josh and Nate have some big goals for the years to come and I can’t wait to see where they go. I hope it is somewhere from the basement to the top. If you have never rode a Marhar, you should test one out for yourself. I have a good feeling you will love the ride. Keep on pushing boys. We are here to support you all the way.

If you ever get invited to attend an event with Marhar Snowboards, I would take them up on the offer. They don’t mess around, they take care of business, and they have a great time. This is exactly why we decided to travel to Downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan to help them put on a snowboard rail jam during the Griffens Great Skate Winterfest.
The Rail Jam…
…was off the hook. We were blessed with blue bird skys, fresh pow, warm temps, and multiple jammers from Michigan. The first part of the day was all about greasing the wheels and dialing in every trick. It was like a backyard rail jam with your buddies. Hours of lapping the park and laughing. EPIC…
Some video footage to hold you over before we talk about the night.
The Night Time Rail Comp.
After hours of riding during the day, most of the athletes couldn’t get enough so they joined in on the night competition. Nothing but Progression.
The lights went on, Ryan Paul and his boys stopped in to judge and speak some craziness, and the urban jam began. The night competition was a killer way to end the day. Local shredders from the area put on their “A” game and gave the whole crowd a show.
Link up with our friends who put on the event, Marhar Snowboards to know exactly when their next event will be, and please don’t forget about the Griffens Great Skate Winterfest. The winterfest is the only reason we were there.
What will your next event, festival, or party look like? We would love to help out, so Contact Us!
