2013 Outdoor Action Company Rail Jam

November 23, 2013 By

Now that the snow season has basically started, I figured it was about time to get a video done of the pre-season rail jam we did at Outdoor Action Company in Keego Harbor.

snowboard, ski, rail jamYeah I know, it only took me a month and a half to get it on youtube, but what can I say? At least I got the video done.

Overall, I would have to say that this set up was one of the best we have put together. From the picture you can see we had a ton of snow. We had three different rail lines set up, and the kids came together to turn the corrugated tube into a jump line. Check it!

We have to give it up to Outdoor Action Company for inviting us in to put on this event. They threw out killer prizes and I can only imagine that next year will be better. They served the crowd smoking hot dogs and popcorn, and threw out some nice deals inside. I saw people walking out all day with new gear in their hands.

If you have heard of OAC or not, make sure to get in there this year and say hi. They have a great staff to help you out with your every need. As far as next year goes, we can only hope that they invite us back for this great event. We also hope that everyone who wants to get down on some early season shredding shows up to dial in their skills.

Outdoor Action Company Pre Season Rail Jam

October 23, 2013 By

It is going down this weekend folks. I don’t know how much has been said about it or how much anyone has heard of it, but let me tell you. It is happening.

Rail Jam, Outdoor Action Company

I know there is a lot going on this weekend, but if you want to get your shred on one more time before the snow flies, make sure to get down to Outdoor Action Company for some pre winter skiing and snowboarding.

There will be free prizes and tons of giveaways. Probably even some food. If I can remember, I polished off a few hot dogs the last couple of years I stopped by. Either way, if you have nothing to do, come out and ride, say hi and enjoy the day on the snow. Hope to see you there!

Backyard Christmas Ski – APPROVED

July 8, 2013 By

Snowboard and skiIf there is not snow on the ground and it is already Christmas, what the heck will you do to ride? You might be able to go to the local ski resort if they are open, but what if they are not? What I suggest you do is carefully watch this video and follow every step these Michigan shredders take. It works, and has to be one of the best ways to get on your skis or snowboards no doubt. What it also is, is a lot of hard work and dedication to the sports you love the most. For that and for dusting off the cobwebs, this video has to be Approved! Enjoy.

Inspired Sounds Sessions

July 5, 2013 By

Do you like Reggae? Do you like to snowboard and ski in the middle of the summer? Do you like to go to rail jams? If so, it is time for you to grab your party hats, your skis and your snowboards. Once you pull your gear ouf of the closet, it is time for you to head to the Timber Ridge Ski Resort for the Inspired Sound Sessions on July 13th. It is sure to be a good time for all, and I hope you can make it out.

Inspired Sounds

Sounds Sessions, Inspired, Tanner Hall

The event will be a Reggae Fest and Rail Jam with Zion Lion, Kevin Perron & Tanner Hall. If you have never heard of Tanner Hall, he is a ski legend. If his skills on the stage are anything like they are on the snow, you can bet that it will be a good show.

Along with good music comes good rail jams. The set up will consist of two drop ins and two different rails for people to jam all day long. If you are wondering where all of the snow will come from, let me be the first to tell you that there will be no snow at this event. It will all be mSnow my friends.

Forget the Bouncy House

May 24, 2013 By

Even though it does not feel like it today, summer is here my friends. With summer comes parties, graduations, festivals, and good ole’ fashion neighbor hood gatherings. In the activities listed I often see the same old boring bounce house theme. It’s time to do something different.

Say No Bounce Houses

Bounce house, midwest, parties, fun

For the past two years I worked hard to find different ways to spruce up your party. Being an advocate of the action sports industry allowed me to come up with three new ideas. Snowboard, Ski and Sled themed parties.

Check out how much fun we had sledding at the Holly Dickens festival. Lets make it happen at your next gathering.

The 6 Foot Drop In

May 17, 2013 By

Man o man, I have been waiting for this for a long time. Waiting and waiting, first for the backyard and then for the time to set up the six foot drop in. It is pretty much time to ride, slide, ski and snowboard anytime we want folks.

Droppin’ In

Snowboard, Ski, Backyard, MidwestPull a few more square feet of the synthetic stuff from the trailer and it will be time to jam. We already know we can mow over the mSnow and the twelve foot rail has been around the block a few times.

It is exciting to think this is just the start. It is hard to think that I will not really be able to ride this thing for another 3-4 months.

At the end of the day, I want people to jam this thing, and I want to fill this backyard. Some of you, get ready for an invite. Everyone else, get ready for the best footage we can bring to you from the backyard.

Let the Fun Begin!

The Hood Lab

May 16, 2013 By

It’s cool to find people who love to snowboard so much they will blow snow in their own backyard just to build a snowboard park. This type of person is a rare breed, but I bet you know someone (maybe it is you) who gets creative just so they can ride in their own yard. Check out what Jeremy, a fellow Parx follower, does with his backyard. He calls it the Hood Lab.

The Lab

snowboard, ski, midwest, backyard

This is simply amazing if you ask me. It looks like a winter wonderland. What you probably do not know is that outside of this fence is grass, dirt and maybe a little frost. What you see in the picture above is the Hood Lab after a few days of blowing man made snow. Jeremy wasn’t about to wait around for Mother Nature. Take a look at the edit below. It shows how Jeremy and his friends get down once the Hood Lab is all shaped up.

[embed width=”620″ height=”349″]http://youtu.be/dj8MtkzxUs4[/embed]

Looks pretty fun right? There is not much space inside the fences that make up the Hood Lab, but Jeremy did a killer job filling every inch of his backyard. If this doesn’t get you inspired to get out in your yard and make something happen, I don’t know if anything will.

Have to give Jeremy a special thanks for sharing his video and a few pictures with us. What he did with the little space he was provided is sweet! I hope more people get out there and build their own park just so they can ride more. It has to be one of the best ways to get on your board. Thanks man.

What will you turn your backyard into?

Summer Shred – APPROVED

May 13, 2013 By

Snowboard and skiSummer backyard shredding is always something I look up to. It is what I do, what I love and a great way to express your creativity. Check out what these cats did in the tiny space they were provided. These two show that you can pretty much ride anywhere if you really want to. I also have to give it up to their parents who let them fill their yard with dreams. Approved.

Ski Snowboard Sex & Drugs-FD Ware

April 17, 2013 By

I don’t know if I agree with this snowboard/ski flick, but at the same time I can’t say I disagree. It is a tough decision and one that really has me thinking. It has me thinking what was FD Outerware really trying to do with an edit like this?

Ski, Snowboard, Sex, DrugFD Outerware

Just as a prereq, this is not something you want to watch at work or with your mom. Honestly, I don’t even know if I should be writing about it. Either way here is the 14 minute video.

So there you have it. Pretty intense right? With guys like Tanner Hall and Marc Frank Montoya you know there was some good riding going down, but man. What a video. Is this how we are going to sell our products? I don’t know.

Let me know what you think. I would to hear your thoughts, or maybe your moms thoughts. We know what you dad is going to say.

Freestyle – APPROVED

April 15, 2013 By

Snowboard and skiThere is really only one reason to approve this video. It is because I want to do exactly what is being done in this video. I want to do it in my backyard, at festivals and I want to bring this to the public so our kids can train their butts off. It is not about the show here. It is all about having fun and going big without an ounce of snow on the ground.  Approved!
