Summer backyard shredding is always something I look up to. It is what I do, what I love and a great way to express your creativity. Check out what these cats did in the tiny space they were provided. These two show that you can pretty much ride anywhere if you really want to. I also have to give it up to their parents who let them fill their yard with dreams. Approved.
Each week we highlight our favorite piece of social media from the snowboard and ski world and give it our “I’d Hit That” stamp of approval. All we want to do is give recognition to all of the hard working folks in the Action Sports Industry.

Word through the action sports grape vine has been telling us that Detroit is bidding on having the X Games right here in their own city. Until now, it has all been word of mouth. No one really knew what was going on behind closed doors, but with the quick video post it is easy to see the truth behind these words.
It is hard to believe anything you hear in the world we live in today. However with an official Vimeo trailer and an official X GamesDetroit facebook page this is one rumor that has to be true. Check out the Trailer below.
This should be really exciting news to anyone who lives in the Midwest. I live 30 minutes from Detroit, so you better believe that I am completely stoked Detroit has the chance to host the X Games. From the looks of it, the city needs as much support as possible. Get out there and like their FB page, watch the video above and support this movement if you love action sports. This is one of the biggest events action sports has to offer. Lets bring it home to the Midwest.
Do you think Detroit a good place for the X Games?

Snowboarding and skiing in your backyard is never an easy feat, but it all just got a whole lot easier. There is no need for outdoor carpet and soap. There is no longer a need to go down to your local hockey rink to pick up snow. All you have to do now is get yourself a mini drop in, throw down some mSnow, and let the party begin.
One of the first tests of our new mini drop in was done over at David Z’s house who owns Agnarchy.com. One week night I pulled into his driveway, unloaded the mini drop in, and set it up in his backyard for a jam sesh. What a blast we had. Here is a video of the summer snowboard session we had in his backyard.
The mSnow ramp took a little bit to get used to, but once we did, it was game time. We jammed for a couple hours, and probably could have pulled out the lights for a longer session. Seeing that it was one of the first times on a board since last winter, we were busy getting used to being on a board again. Our legs got tired fast, but what a great feeling it was to be back on a board.
Overall we were impressed how only five feet of drop in could allow us to jam a 12 foot obstacle for hours. With a drop in like this in your backyard, you could nearly perfect every trick you know before you even touch the snow. This will only lead to learning new and more difficult tricks throughout the winter. As I see it. Snowboarding and skiing in your backyard during the summer is the only way to go if you really want to progress through the winter. Especially because the winters in the Midwest are so short.
What do you do to snowboard and ski during the summer?
This was bootleg 007, and we look forward to bootleg 008.

Sit back, enjoy, and take a look at this weeks “I’d Hit That” stamp of approval.
This one came in from our good friend David Z. over at Agnarchy.com. I think he saw this and knew it had to be approved. I instantly did. Watch on as Matt does a frontside 720 right into a backside 720 and then rounds it off with a 540. All on a dirt board. Pretty amazing and I hope resorts around the Midwest wake up and add in some dirt boarding during the summer. This dude is pushes the limits and I love it. Approved!

In your life how many days have you spent on a board in the middle of summer? The PARX crew would like to think a lot, but the reality of it is that the number is probably pretty small. Well follow what the cats are doing in this approved video and your number might change drastically.

Get ready Minnesota snowboard and ski people. Have you heard the word? Will you believe it? Can you feel it? Can you see it? I hope so because a year round snowboard and ski facility is about to rest in your state. Hyland Snowboard and Ski Area located in Bloomington, Minnesota, is about to get it done.
Hyland Ski and Snowboard Area
Located just a few hours from my home town of Winona, Minnesota, Hyland provided me with one more place to ride throughout the year. I can remember as a high school kid searching for a new resort to rock. That is when I found Hyland. From that time, until I relocated to SE Michigan, Hyland was a yearly stop.
I never could have imagined Hyland to be the place that will fulfill many dreams, including mine. Year round snowboarding and skiing. Can you imagine the progression, the business, and the fun???
Hyland is making it happen. Listen in and watch an interview of Fred Seymour, Hyland’s Sr. Manager of Alpine Services.
We think Hyland is the start of a Snowflex epidemic. They will be the second year round ski and snowboard facility in the USA and the only in the Midwest. For starters, one per state sounds legit to us, but we see it going bigger than that. Year round facilities will be within a couple hours from every door step in the Midwest and the USA. Just a prediction.
Aside from predictions, we love the idea, we help make it happen, and will push till our predictions come true. It all starts with a dream, and then it is one foot in front of the other after that. As far as Hyland goes, we wish them luck, we can’t wait to come back home to shred, and cheers to you!
What are your thoughts?? Do you have a spot where we could make this happen?
Hyland Snowboard and Ski Area = 0005 places, PARX and the world can Board the Midwest All Day Everyday.

With unreliable winters in the Midwest, our snow season seems to come and go like it was never here. Some snowboard and ski seasons are two months long, and if we are lucky snow might be on the ground for four months. Does this piss anyone off? As soon as you get into a groove the season ends. It ticks us and our friends off every year. The good thing for us is that there is an answer for it all. SNOWFLEX folks!!!
What is SNOWFLEX…
For those of you who have never heard of Snowflex, here is a quick explanation. Snowflex is a engineered materiel that allows you to snowboard 365 days out of the year. It is a carpet like system that has misters, padding and allows you to snowboard or ski down a hill with the same feeling that you would get when you are on the snow. Brilliant!
What does this mean for those of us that live in BS climates and only have snow on the ground for a small portion of the year? It means we have to combine forces and get a Snowflex complex in the Midwest right now. A Snowflex complex can cost any where from a million to 14 million dollars. So for those of you in the Midwest who are looking to win the X GAMES, The Dew Tour, Gatorade Free Flow Tour, and possibly go to the Olympics. You need this.
One Snowflex complex in the US
Liberty Mountain located in Lynchberg, VA, has one of the only Snowflex complexes in the US. Check it out. How sweet is that? The possibilities are endless and with a force of people who are passionate about snowboarding and skiing, we believe it can happen. It might already be happening and we don’t even know about it. If not, we need to push this idea to the max and get it going.
Throughout the Midwest we have heard of a few new resorts that are about to open. Why waste your time and money on only being able to be open four months out of the year? Why not invest your money in something that people can come to all year?!?! It is new, innovative, and something that is not around. Lets get this going!!
Do you know anyone with money. Do you have money? Do you know anyone who would want to snowboard and ski All day, Everyday? Do you like the idea? If so shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We would love to hear from you.
