X Games Detroit, One Step Closer

May 29, 2013 By

Last night X Games Detroit Bid organizers put together a party in downtown Detroit to welcome ESPN to the town. It was an opportunity to show ESPN what D-town is all about and to show them exactly why the X Games should be here for the next three years.

Beaste Boys, Music, Master Mike

To keep it short. The organizers did a damn good job. The local BMX crew shared ramps with the local skate crew to put on a daring show. Mix Master Mike threw down some nasty beets while local graffiti artist did their thing. The rest of us hung out and supported the cause.

Detroit X Games

All I can say is that I was pleasantly surprised by the whole event. The number of people who showed up to support the whole thing was killer and I had a great time.

From what I saw, I think ESPN has to be happy. If you want to see the X Games come to Detroit, get to the X Games Detroit Bid facebook page and start paying attention. These guys are making big moves and they can use your help.

X Games in Detroit

April 3, 2013 By

Word through the action sports grape vine has been telling us that Detroit is bidding on having the X Games right here in their own city.  Until now, it has all been word of mouth. No one really knew what was going on behind closed doors, but with the quick video post it is easy to see the truth behind these words.

X Games

X Games, Action Sports, Michigan, Detroit

It is hard to believe anything you hear in the world we live in today. However with an official Vimeo trailer and an official X GamesDetroit facebook page this is one rumor that has to be true.  Check out the Trailer below.

This should be really exciting news to anyone who lives in the Midwest.  I live 30 minutes from Detroit, so you better believe that I am completely stoked Detroit has the chance to host the X Games. From the looks of it, the city needs as much support as possible.  Get out there and like their FB page, watch the video above and support this movement if you love action sports.  This is one of the biggest events action sports has to offer.  Lets bring it home to the Midwest.

Do you think Detroit a good place for the X Games?

Snowboard and skiBode Merrill drops bombs in this one minute and sixteen seconds of video.  From massive parking structures to down rails that turn into c-rails, it is no doubt that Bode is confident on a board. My favorite trick happens just seconds into this video, but I will let you watch it to see.  Once you watch how this kid rides, you will know why this video is Approved.

Shaun White’s Perfect 100 – APPROVED

Snowboard and skiEvery Monday we highlight our favorite piece of social media from the snowboard and ski world and give it our “I’d Hit That” stamp of approval.  All we want to do is give recognition to all of the hard working folks in the Action Sports Industry.

Sit back, enjoy, and take a look at this weeks “I’d Hit That” stamp of approval.

White’s Perfect 100

We are giving this video our stamp of approval because it is history.  100 has never been given in the X Games.  Shaun White killed it during his half pipe victory lap and the judges rewarded him kindly.  Watch the video and let us know what you think.  There is controversy all over the place and people can bicker all they want.  All we think you have to remember is that Shaun White threw down and he didn’t have to.
